This effort began In September 2020, when Tom Bott and Sherry Jo Matt lost their 21-year-old daughter, Siena, to fentanyl poisoning. After this devastating loss, they turned their grief into a mission to end the stigma surrounding substance use disorders and mental health disorders through Stop The Judgment Project.
How to talk to kids about adults who use drugs and abuse alcohol would be very helpful. Many families have
relatives or children have parents who have these addictions and it's difficult to know how and when to talk about these things. For example, a couple years ago a mother of a student at Bradford Woods Elementary died of a drug overdose. My children were in
class and rode the bus with her son and it was a difficult subject for young ears and minds to understand. Thank you very much for this helpful resource for our community!
A Virtual Beer Tasting Fundraising Event In Remembrance of Siena Bott. Music is being provided by the talented Bethany James. Beer is being provided by our dear friends at Fuhrer Wholesale Company: Lou Tucci and Matt Sondej. We will be educated by a beer master from Southern Tier Brewing Company. All proceeds will benefit STJP whose mission is to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and substance use disorders, particularly in young adults.
